Matt Raney was born in Alaska itself and from a young age, he plunged into the task of helping his father and mother make a living. Born in July 1982 in Anchorage, Alaska, Matt Raney’s age is 39 years and he knows more about the homestead business than other people much older than him. Marty Raney taught him the basic skills of surviving and living off the land in Alaska and he added to his repertoire by learning farming and animal husbandry from his aunt and uncle by working on their farm. He learned the business by spending the severe Alaskan winters living in “dry” cabins which meant there was no direct water and heat. Matt learned how to hunt game from and along with his father Marty and they would go out with a pair of pack mules carrying their stuff and gear. The family needed to harvest meat to survive so they would hunt together, dress the killed game, transport the meat back home, and then equitably share the earnings.

Matt has been especially good at hunting game and in the summer of 2015 alone he brought in more than 1000 pounds of fish, caribou, moose, and sheep. There was so much meat that time that the entire family was well fed and it lasted throughout the entire bitter Alaskan winter. Matt’s sister Misty Raney loves fishing and Matt would always involve her when he went out to fish. Though he is a tough man he has a soft side to him and he has always looked out for his two sisters. People often wonder about Matt’s personal life and want to know if he has a wife or any children. Matt Raney’s wife’s name is Katie Raney and the couple got married on May 2, 2016. Matt has a baby boy who was born in 2018 and the pair is busy raising him and now Matt may move his family into a homestead of their own. Matt is heir to the family business named Alaska Stone and Log but he has earned money on his own as well. Matt Raney’s net worth is believed to be around $250,000 and the way he has been working hard it is surely going to increase.
